Thanksgiving and A First Time For Everything

Why is Thanksgiving one of my favorite Holidays? Of course I love Christmas, but there is just something about Thanksgiving.

No agenda.
We did forget to get a turkey pan, so we had to make a trip to the grocery store, but that just meant we got to stop at Starbucks!

Jammies all day.
Abby learned how to make eggs in the microwave today and made them for everyone. I personally didn't care for any, but Jon ate them!

Cooking together.

Cuddlefest.
Yeah, they are cute!

Look at those lashes!

He gets em from this guy!

Yummy food.

The parade.
Have to watch the NYC Rocketts.

Here comes Santa Clause.

It's just not Thanksgiving without Al, Meredith and Matt.

Mrs. Clause.

The National Dog Show. We are not usually big fans of this long drawn out competition, but one family member seemed to like it!

"What mom?"

Scouting out and cutting down our tree.

I asked all the kids to go get ready so we could go out back and find our tree. Matty and Ella had an interesting idea of what the proper attire was!

"Ready mom! Okay, I'll put a little more one. How's this?"

I think Ella was a little mixed up and had fashion show on the brain, but she sure looked cute for the great outdoors!

Scouting for the perfect tree.

One snow boot, one rain boot, it works!

We found the perfect tree top!

The deer helping daddy with the Christmas tree.

Unwrapping all our past years ornaments.

Putting up our Christmas tree.

Watching the classics.
When I turned on Miracle on 34th street Abby said, "um, I don't think I am going to like this because it doesn't have any color." They all loved it and that made me one happy mommy!

Eating to much and taking a turkey nap.
Matt laid down for us to change him and conked out.

What is it about a sleeping baby?

The boys passed out

I love everything about it!

Our huge tree!

This post comes to you bright dark and early this Friday morning. 2:30 a.m. to be exact. I am about to embark on an adventure that I never thought I would partake in. BLACK FRIDAY! My dear friend Heather is whisking me away before the birds are up. We are headed to Denver to wait in lines with the rest of the crazies. Erik thinks it's a complete gimmick and I would have to agree with him for the most part. I guess working retail will do that to you.

Trying to explain to a guy why getting up super early, standing in long lines and fighting crowds is fun, is like trying to persuade me that rebuilding a car engine is fun. But, honestly I don't even really understand why I am going. Oh, yes, I know, because I have a very cute, persuasive friend who totally believes in the whole idea. It doesn't matter what Heather and I are doing, we always have fun so I know it will be great no matter what! Also the first 50 customers at Plato's Closet gets a $20.00 gift card, that seems worth it! I think the plan is Starbucks (of course), Kohls, Old Navy, Platos. But she is the boss for the day and has it all mapped out, I am just along for the ride! I have a feeling this will become a tradition!

So here goes nothing, wish us luck! There is a first time for everything! If you will also be out with us on this insane day, I hope you have lots of fun too!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!
