My Learning Curve

I feel a bit overwhelmed, but totally excited about all that is happening, with my photography beginnings!

This week I signed up for a workshop online through clickin moms. Our assignment this week, was to do three shots and edit them, only using Lightroom's basic panel. We were to do a headshot, a 1/2 body shot and a full body shot. We also had to include a close up of the eyes to check for clarity. I usually always use photoshop, in one way or another, in my edits, so it was challenging to not jump over there from Lightroom! No eye sharpening done in any of these.

Ella loves being my model! I am so thankful for an adorable, willing subject to practice on! Here is what I turned in!

This last week, was also the live wedding workshop, put on by creative live, shot by Jasmine Star! She is one of my all time favorite photographers, that I just adore! Her work is amazing and she is amazing! I learned so much from this experience and I purchased the downloads, so I can go back a hundred times over!! I totally idolize (definition of idolize: admire, revere, or love greatly or excessively) her, in a good way! I want to be her when I grow up!!

My next incredible piece of news, is happening today! Another amazing photographer Chris McLaughlin has agreed to mentor me! He is ranked #7, on Denver's 7 A-list, you can vote for him here. His work is gorgeous!! I am beyond excited! We are getting together this morning for the first time. I am ready, with my list of questions in hand. I have so much to learn and I feel so privileged that he is taking the time to teach me! We are meeting on location and will be doing a shoot! To be honest, I am very nervous, but it's a good nervous! The kind of nervous you get when you know something good is going to happen. I guess what makes me most nervous, is doing a shoot in front of a real professional! This is really what I have needed, someone to give me some hands on instruction and getting it from someone whose work I admire, is extremely exciting!

Thank you Heather and Kellie, for watching me little guys and making this opportunity possible for me!! I love you!!

Here are a few more pictures from Ella's shoot, that didn't make the cut, but they are adorable, so I have to include them!!!
